How the day works
One ticket, two parks, one long night
Grad Nite tickets let you hop between Disneyland and California Adventure all day alongside regular guests. In the evening, you'll enter California Adventure before Disney closes the gates, then enjoy the park with graduates from other schools until 2:00 AM.

- A few lockers have phone-charging ports. They aren't worth hunting for.

Facts, rumors & myths
Things to notice while you're there
- Walt Disney got the idea from "Daddy's Day" trips to Griffith Park, where he wished adults and kids could have fun together.
- Disneyland was built in one year to the day: groundbreaking July 16, 1954; opening July 17, 1955.
- On opening day the asphalt was still soft, and women whose heels sank in were given moccasins from Frontierland.
- About 6,000 people were invited to opening day, but roughly 28,000 showed up, many with counterfeit tickets.
- Tinker Bell was the original park mascot, so Mickey wouldn't be tied to the park if it failed.
- Disneyland is the only Disney park Walt saw completed. He kept an apartment above the Main Street fire station.
- Sleeping Beauty Castle is 77 feet tall, shorter than the Matterhorn, Space Mountain and Guardians of the Galaxy.
- The castle drawbridge is real and has been lowered only twice: opening day and the 1983 Fantasyland reopening.
- Main Street's buildings are scaled so the walk out of the park feels longer than the walk in.
- In the Haunted Mansion ballroom, the dancing ghosts were installed reversed, so the women appear to lead.
- Pirates of the Caribbean loads about 3,400 guests an hour, the fastest-moving line in the park.
From the Disneyland Resort Grad Nite team
Disney Grad Nite guidelines
Grad Nite at the Disneyland Resort dates back to 1961. Attending is a privilege, not a right. Disney expects schools and chaperones to strictly enforce these rules, and a school that violates them can be banned from future Grad Nites.
Screening at the resort
Expect bag checks and metal-detector screening at Disney's backstage screening area, plus drug-sniffing dogs with the Anaheim Police Department. Passing screening is required to enter. Any banned substance found on the bus or on a student is turned over to Anaheim Police.
Who can attend
Graduating seniors in good standing with their school. Students must arrive with the school by bus; student-driven cars aren't allowed. Chaperones must be 25 or older and may not drink alcohol.
Your ticket
You're responsible for your own ticket all day. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and won't be replaced if lost or stolen. You'll get an event wristband after screening.

Frequently asked questions
Everything students and parents ask
How much money do I need to bring?
Bring at least $100. Things in the parks are expensive; a counter-service meal runs $15–$20 per person.
What time do I need to show up at school?
It depends on your bus (assigned later). Each bus has a 30-minute check-in window, with the last check-in at 11:30 AM for the 12:00 PM departure.
What happens when we leave school?
- Enter the gym, find your bus name on the wall, and check in with your chaperone.
- Sit in that area and relax until boarding.
- Mr. Brown tells each chaperone when to take students to their bus.
- Your chaperone takes roll again on the bus.
What time does the bus leave school?
About 12:00 PM.
What's a typical schedule for the day?
- Enter the gym, find your bus sign, check in, and wait until everyone has cleared security.
- Mr. Brown announces boarding.
- On the bus, your chaperone plays a movie and hands out entrance tickets. Don't lose yours, and take a photo of it with your phone.
- The bus pulls into a special Grad Nite entrance, where Disney staff lead you through another security line. Open every pocket in your bags.
- At the Grad Nite ticket entrance, staff scan your ticket and put on your wristband.
- Enjoy Disneyland and California Adventure.
- Head into California Adventure through the Grad Nite entrance in the evening. Disney staff will guide you.
- From the gate closing until 2:00 AM, only guests with wristbands are allowed in California Adventure.
When does the bus leave Disneyland, and how?
- Grad Nite ends at 2:00 AM. Go to the buses on the east side of the park (map with directions).
- Ride the shuttle to the drop-off location.
- Walk to your bus (staff will direct you) and check in with your chaperone.
- Your bus leaves once everyone on it is checked in. It doesn't wait for the other PSHS buses.
When will the bus get back to school?
Usually no later than 5:00 AM, depending on how quickly everyone gets back to the bus.
What kind of bus is it, and how many seats?
Tour buses with comfortable seats, storage underneath and monitors for movies. Most seat 50–53 students plus 2 chaperones.
What can I bring on the bus?
Pillows and blankets can be brought and left on the bus, but the driver isn't responsible for them. No liquids or food. Water is provided in the gym.
Do I have to stay on the bus I chose? Can I switch?
Yes, you must stay on your original bus. Rosters and seats are set once you choose, so buses can't be changed.
I have a Disneyland Annual Pass. Do I still have to pay?
Yes. Grad Nite is a private event and Annual Passes aren't valid for admission for students or chaperones. Passholders can still use their merchandise and food discounts.
Can I drive myself to Disneyland?
No. The school and the Disneyland Resort require you to ride the bus both ways.
How do I keep my phone charged all day?
Turn off Wi-Fi once you're on the bus; searching for a signal drains the battery. Starbucks inside the parks doesn't offer free Wi-Fi, but the one in Downtown Disney does.
Bring a portable power bank (available at Walmart, Target, Amazon and similar stores). Outlet lists are on the Disney Info page, but they aren't verified.
Are guest passes available?
No. Because of past issues, Administration isn't offering guest passes.
